Public speaking is deliberately structured as three general purposes: to inform, to persuade and to entertain.
But there’s this fear of public speaking. A phobia known as Glossophobia or speech anxiety.

Fear of public speaking  is widely known of all fears. It's a type of execution uneasiness in which a man turns out to be exceptionally worried that he or she will look obviously restless, possibly have a fit of anxiety while talking. After some time, individuals attempt to secure themselves by either maintaining a strategic distance from public speaking  or by battling against speech anxiety. Along these lines, individuals get tricked into making the fear of public speaking more chronic and disruptive .

The average person ranks the fear of public speaking higher than the fear of death. The truth is, this fear could be hurting your professional and personal life.

In business, it is essentially important for you to be able to get your point across. It is likely that all of us will one day have to speak in public. This fear of public speaking can be resolved by some simple tips. 

  1. Get yourself organised: When you are clear in your mind about your thoughts and ideas, it becomes easy for you to deliver them. 
  2. Practice and prepare yourself: Jot down your key points and practice as much as you can.
  3. Eliminate fear of rejection: Remember! Not every person is as same as you. Some might not like your idea or the way you deliver speech but on the other hand some may love it. Remember you cannot please everyone. 
  4. Focus on patterns: Try to get in rhythm. Keep your points short and repeat key points 
  5. Practice in mirror: Watch yourself in mirror and pay attention to your gestures, facial expressions, body movements and try to improve them. 
  6. Record yourself and learn your voice
  7. Breathe calmly and focus on getting into a rhythm 
  8. Practice some more: Remember! Practice makes a man perfect. Practice as much as you can.
  9. Focus on the material not audience 
  10. Don’t overthink audience reaction.
